Space.

Moving to Virginia was an adventure for sure.  We moved hoping for certain things.  In general, I try not to get my hopes up too high, so it doesn't hurt so much if things don't go good.  But when moving 8 hours away from family and a beautiful town?  My hopes had to be high.

Thankfully, all my hopes came true.  Everything and everyone is way better/nicer than we expected.  We've been here for 3 months and it feels like 3 years (in a good way, of course).

But there are times when I see pictures of where we used to live that I miss it just a teeny tiny bit.  It really was a gorgeous place.  And the apartment?  Lots of windows and space to breathe!!!!  These pics are from when we were moving out, but it shows how big the rooms were.  Here's the living room, with the sunroom (which we used as our dining room) in the background.  Two walls in the dining room were covered with windows and it let so much light in-- I loved it!

Here I was standing in the same place, but turned to the left.  The living room is on the right, this area in front of the camera was supposed to be a dining room, but it's where we kept all of Josh's music stuff.  It was great for entertaining because it was right there with the living room!  To the left was a hallway with a closet and the doorway; to the right is the kitchen.

Here's our new apartment (taken with my camera phone).  On the left side where the couch ends there is about 2 inches before the door begins.  And on the right side, there is about the same amount of space not pictured.  Teeny tiny.

In other words, for the first time in a long time, we're making plans to buy a house.  It will be a few years down the road, but boy I got spoiled with all that space in our last apartment!

Oh, and one more thing that I miss about our old apartment.

This was about 5 miles away.

You think Newport News will put one of these puppies downtown?

I should show you pictures of my place. Your dad, my dad, and papaw all saw how small (and unfurnished) it is/was. I love it to death, but I have ONE window for my entire apartment, haha. I have the big room and I think it's smaller than the dorm room I had last year. My roommate's room is practically her entire queen size bed. I miss space, but I loooooooooooove living off campus (finally).
