What to do when your fridge is broken.

Two years ago Josh and I spent a month without a fridge.

It. Was. Terrible.

So when we were up at my parents house one weekend, their fridge broke.  They were thinking of getting it repaired and in the meantime, using coolers.

I told them they would hate it.

They reminded me that fridges didn't used to be so popular and that they, too, have used coolers before.

Then the next morning they went to buy a new fridge.

I like to think it's because they listen to my infinite wisdom.

Pardon me, but I slept until 11am on this particular day.  By the time I was done rubbing sleepy dust out of my eyes and had my withers about me to grab my camera, the old fridge was out and the new fridge was in.

Never mind the doors.  Those aren't important for fridges, are they?

Oh, this?  This is what happens when your old fridge doesn't need a water line, but your new one does.  You have to pull everything out of the cabinets between the sink and the fridge.  That's on top of all the frozen and chilled items that you just pulled out of the old fridge.

And don't forget the funky smell.  It fills the house.

Thankfully, my parents live on top of a mountain, and it's cool enough there during the summer that they can leave the windows open (no air conditioning here!).  It aired the place out a bit.

And I am most definitely their child because they threw half of this stuff away.  It's much easier than cleaning it.

Haha-- that's totally something I would do.

I obviously have not been their house in a long time. This is a new kitchen.

I could not live a day without my fridge! Not with a toddler, I shudder at the thought. I pet the people from the pioneer days would laugh at me!

I've missed reading your blog. I've been bust trying to rebalanced my life and time, I've worked out a new schedule for fall and now I'm back into the swing of things. You have to check out my picture editing on my new post, I need your help I think!
