Merry, Merry Christmas!

While you're reading this, hopefully I'm in NC with my family, overcome with joy.  That would mean that the snow held off and our Christmas travels went off without a hitch.

Which would be nice... because last Christmas we missed dinner with my family because we were waiting for a tow truck.  And while he was towing our car, he was also making a drug deal over the phone for later.

It was interesting, for sure, but that's not what I think of when it comes to Christmas.  To me, Christmas is about memories and family.  And Jesus.  Always about Jesus, but that goes without saying.  :)

This year as we were decorating, I fell in love with our stockings all over again.

Both of these are from when we were kids.  How awesome is that?  I decided that when we have kids, we'll continue the tradition.  In fact, I already talked with the lady that made my stocking, and she agreed to make them when we have kids.  Yahoo!  There is just something very special about them... and I love it!

And, well... we don't have a chimney, so we hung them on the bookshelf with care...

Christmas also brings out all the beautiful nativity sets.  Funny how they are much more gorgeous and glamorous than the actual situation was, I'm sure.  It's a great reminder, though... that my Jesus really did come in a miraculous way to save the world.  Crazy, insane, and totally something that only God could do.

The Willow Tree nativity?  Breathtaking.  I remember seeing it in a store a few years ago and stopping dead in my tracks.  I was just in awe of it.  This isn't mine, but a friend's..

Then that leaves family.  My amazing husband.  I can't get enough of him.  He is so talented, trustworthy, sexy, responsible... I could go on (and I normally do...).  He understands me like no one else has ever been able to.  He loves me all the time.  He treats me with respect, and if he ever does anything to make me sad, he apologizes.  I am so blessed to have him.  So wonderfully blessed.  And I know that when the time comes, he'll make a fabulous dad.

And the rest of my immediate family.  We got these pictures done back in the summer and I had a canvas made for each family as their Christmas present.
