My hometown shuts down around 6:00pm. After that, you can buy gas, food, or go to the movies, but that's about it.
It's the reason that my first date with Josh ended up with us watching "Meet the Parents" at my parents house... with my parents. Such a brave man, my husband is.
So where does everyone hang out? Sure, there are a few bars around. A few. But there is this one spot... this one spot where you can find an amazing amount of people.
The Exxon station near Wal-Mart. It's a terribly interesting place. I've rarely been when I haven't seen someone I know. And if you go after midnight, you are in for a treat.
A treat? At a gas station? Oh yes. How do I describe it? "Creature from the Black Lagoon" comes to mind.
Every country stereotype is played out. All of them.
Lots of spray painted vehicles. I'm not hatin'-- I've had those in my family, too. I'm just sayin'.
Lawn mowers are occasionally used as transportation.
Gas tanks may or may not be on the outside of the vehicle.
Oh, and there's a Huddle House right there, too. Want drama? Just hang out here after midnight. No one will hurt you, but you could film a documentary and make quite a bit of cash, I assume. 'Teen Mom' ain't got nothing on this!
I'd tell stories of people, but many people in my hometown read this.
What the hangout in your hometown?

lol.. I feel ya girl. Although I've yet to live in a town with a movie theater.:/ The nearest one is 40 minutes away. There isn't a Walmart here either. Only one Dollar General and a small over priced grocery store. I really need to take a photo of main street on a Sunday afternoon and post it to my blog. It seriously looks like a ghost town.
We used to hang out at the Exxon on Main Street, but the cops kept running us off. I'd also like to add that every time I've been to that Huddle House after midnight, no one else is there. Maybe this is a recent thing, but it's pretty dead.
Also, Wal-Mart is a big late night hang out and the WEIRDEST people are there. People that only come out of the woodworks after midnight. I swear these people don't even live in Waynesville.
I still like to go to Waffle House to drink coffee and catch up with buds when I'm in town, but now we hang out at this guy's house. I guess it's okay. We just spend hours combing through Netflix movies looking for something to watch.
