Country boys.

This post was inspired by the song "A Little More Country Than That" by Easton Corbin (how's that for a country name?)

You can listen to this awesome song here, if you haven't already heard it.

---------

I used to think I wanted a country boy.  You know, the dreamy, hot ones that you see in all the country songs.

Throw in a truck, a ball cap, some cowboy boots, an accent, and a smile that will charm anyone.

That's what I thought I wanted.

But then I met Josh.  And while he did have all those things, he definitely wasn't the country boy I'd had in mind.  He lived in the city, for goodness sakes!

He did drive a truck... a Toyota Tacoma (which was actually on my mental list that I wanted in a hubby-- another post for another time).

And boy, did he ever have a smile that charmed me!  And anyone.

But Josh?  He played piano.  Not exactly what I had in mind for my country boy.  They play acoustic guitars.  Not pianos.

And Josh worked at The Buckle.  I'm not sure that any real cowboy has ever heard of The Buckle, much less shopped there.  The country boy I was looking for would laugh at their prices.

And did I mention that he lived in the city?  And loved the city?  And wanted to move to Atlanta?

Country boys don't want to move to Atlanta.  They want to live on their family land and have 7 kids.

And Josh had high taste.  He loved a good steak at a nice restaurant.

Don't country boys raise their own steak?

But apparently there was one main thing that I wanted in my country boy that I just hadn't put my finger on.  That was compassion.

Country boys have respect and compassion for others.  They'll never leave a damsel in distress.  They treat the women in their lives like they are the single most important thing.

And that's how Josh has always treated me.  Always.  His track record is insane!

So even though he may not be Marlboro Man (trust me, I asked if he would be!), he's still my sweet country boy.

And, he's learned to play guitar.  And my brothers have introduced him to all sorts of country things.

I digress.
